The 5-day gorilla trekking safari experience in Rwanda is done in Volcanoes National Park, the prominent destination where you encounter mountain gorillas, and you start and end in Kigali.

Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport at 19:15, you will go through custom and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a thousand hills that Rwanda is know of, an later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Serena Hotel Kigali (Luxury) or Hotel des Milles Collies (Mid – range) or Quiet Haven Hotel (Standard).

Day 2: City tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Travel time +2hrs

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport at 0600 hrs. and passing through the immigration process, you will be welcomed by our safari driver who will, brief you shortly and head of for Kigali city tour, with a visit to Kigali genocide museum, where over 250000 victims of the genocide incidence were laid to rest in a mass grave, you later return and have a tour of Kigali city, including a visit to Belgium museum, were 10 Belgium peace keepers were also laid to rest as being also victim to the Rwandan genocide of 1994. You will later have lunch and transfer to Musanz where you will your dinner and overnight stay at Five Volcanoes Boutique Lodge (Luxury) or Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge (Mid – range) or La Palme Hotel (Standard). Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & cultural experience

Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will be briefed before you enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and hut.

The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head for a cultural experience, to get a cultural insight of the Rwandan culture, with traditional performance at Iby’ Iwacu gorilla guardian center. You will later return and spend the evening at leisure. Diner and overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Lodge (Luxury) or Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge (Mid – range) or La Palme Hotel (Standard). Day 4: Golden Monkey trekking

Today after you warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and start off you day golden monkey trekking. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though not so hectic like gorilla trekking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and later you will be transferred to Kisenyi – L. Kivu where you will spend the rest of your evening relaxing at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel Kivu (Luxury) or Paradise Kivu (Mid – range) or Paradise Malahide (Standard). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5: Boat ride and transfer to Kigali

Today after you warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to Lake Kivu for a boat ride to have an adventure to explore the islands within this great lake as you watch over for varies species of birds and fishermen doing their fishing in the local canoe. You will later return for lunch and later transfer to Kigali and if time permits, visit some art galleries, local market for shopping, before you’re dropped off at airport at 6 pm to catch up with your flight back home.
